DEBBIE MASSEY
After graduating from the University of Denver in 1972, Debbie enjoyed an outstanding career as an amateur golfer.  She was ranked World #1 in 1974 and 1975 and represented the U.S. on both the Curtis Cup and World Teams in 1974 and 1976.
A Michigan native, Debbie joined the LPGA Tour in 1977 and garnered Rookie of the Year honors.  Her 18 year professional career was highlighted by 3 official LPGA Tour wins and 2 back to back Women's British Open Championships.
Massey's accomplishments extended beyond the golf course when she was elected VP of the LPGA in 1980 and 1981 and President of the Association in 1982.  In 1990, Debbie received the Golf Digest Founder Cup Award for humanitarian contributions off the course.  The award recognized her work with the American Heart Association, the Red Cross and the Burn Foundation.

After retiring from LPGA competition in 1995, Massey started Opus 1, a sports marketing firm representing LPGA Tour players.  She served on many committees and boards including the LPGA Board of Directors, the USGA Implements and Ball Committee, the National Advisory Board of the Women's Sports Foundation, the National Advisory Board of the Executive Women's Golf Association, the LPGA Hall of Fame Committee and the Legends Tour.
In 2000, Massey served as the first Vice Captain of the Solheim Cup Team where Captain Pat Bradley noted that, "she brought class, humor and integrity to the event, providing a role model for all".  In that same year, Debbie enthusiastically returned to her native Michigan.  "I couldn't wait to get back Up North", she said.  "When it came time to choose anywhere to live, I thought, why not live where we always vacationed"!

Massey taught golf schools with Pam Phipps at Black Lake GC and Indian River GC from 2004-2016 and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and love of the game of golf on behalf of the CCJGAF.
